In late 2013 a Sydney RSL club located in Cronulla decided to undergo extensive rebuilding and refurbishment of its premises, which included an area of artificial grass.
The builder chose Pro-Tech Corp to assist in creating a green environment in the newly constructed outdoor alfresco dining and bar area.
Pro-Tech “Ultima” artificial lawn seemed to be the perfect solution for achieving a soft, real looking lawn, which was planned for a large part of the total floor area. It would also prove to be an attractive contrast against the timber decking that surrounded the area.
Artificial grass drainage benefits
The artificial grass, being effectively porous, was installed over a water drainage cell. This allowed rainwater to drain through both the turf and cell efficiently, directing it to outside drains. In effect, this ensured there was no residual water lying beneath the turf, which could significantly reduce its life cycle.
Working on a tight time frame, the installation was completed on time and on budget. The building team, club management and especially the patrons were suitably delighted with the result.
